The Female Presence and Power in Communication program helps Women confidently own and unleash the power of our inner assets, authority and authentic presence, plus enhance their communication skills, so that we achieve greater influence and make a greater positive impact through our work.
When there are more Women in Leadership, and those Women bring their unique talents to the table, some evidence based benefits for the organisations and communities we serve consist of:
Over the last decade, having worked collaboratively with multiple world Leaders in the fields of Business, Communication, Leadership and Public Speaking and most recently, alongside the CRM, Learning and Design teams and Tutors in NIDA Corporate, and having had thousands of conversations during this time with aspiring and existing Female Leaders, in both professional and entrepreneurial settings, what i have seen is that, despite the immense amount of benefits that we know we can have as Female Leaders, we can still have an overwhelming level of fear and resistance come up when we're faced with an opportunity to take on greater Leadership responsibilities, and or are faced with the prospect of both having to do more speaking to groups, and or leading more important conversations one on one. Especially under the additional pressure of many modern day industry, cultural and sociological conditions that still exist as potential barriers. This program is designed to help replace that fear and resistance, with deeper connection to our inner authority and authentic leadership presence, plus enhance our confidence in communication, by addressing the 4 areas of concern outlined below.

What problems does the program help resolve?
This program has been divided into 4 x3 hour intensive private coaching sessions, specifically designed to address these 4 common areas of challenge that can be experienced, as we step into more Leadership responsibilities and are faced with the prospect of having to do more speaking to groups and lead more important conversations one on one.
Nerves that come up associated with leadership, speaking to groups and one on one communication
Or found yourself feeling a lot of anxiety about things like:
Whether those nerves are associated with a typical fight flight response, associated with a memory of a past experience we had in front of a group, or with a specific person, or are a part of the story we're constantly telling ourselves in the privacy of our heads, the first, "breakthrough" session of the program is specifically tailored to help each individual to reprogram our nerves and negative self talk, in line with our vision of how we would like to be showing up as Leaders and Communicators instead. So that we can succeed in showing up grounded and centred in our inner authority and inner knowing, our authentic presence and our true power, when it matters most.
Female Leadership presence and power
After we've explored our vision of the highest version of the Leader & Communicator we want to be, one of the next challenges that we face, is that we often then start picking apart all the ways in which we think we AREN'T that. Even if we were born with those qualities (and i believe we are) we can then self-reject them with our self talk. When what we need to be doing instead is realising that we ARE them and BEING them. Thus the second session gives us an opportunity to practice embodying them in voice, movement and expression. And then assists you to generate a home play plan that transfers practicing in this one session, into a habit we've adopted long term in our everyday personal and professional lives.
How to be more assertive & own the power in our voice
Do you feel confident in your ability to say what you really mean and mean what you say? Or do you feel a bit like sometimes you hold back? And then maybe when you do end up saying it, perhaps it comes out with a bit too much fire and doesn't go down how you hoped it might? Sometimes we may not feel confident to say what we really mean, in case it rocks the boat and causes trouble. Or messes up something we’re afraid to lose. And if we're not confident that we can handle asserting ourselves effectively, we can go a bit heart-pounding, weak-at-the-knees at the thought of how exactly we will handle challenging discussions and situations (personal or professional) with that one particular person, who we see is either much louder or better at getting their point or needs across, than we. And then find ourselves wishing that we could assert ourselves more powerfully and effectively, in the manner we envision an ideal Manager or Leader 'should' be able to?
The 3rd section of the program works on practicing communication techniques that aid clear, concise, kind and confident communication in personal and professional settings. And thus helps us build upon our skills of assertiveness. As well as provides a chance to work, in the technical, vocal coaching sense, on literally strengthening the physical quality of our authentic voice. Before we look at ways to transfer practice of these skills back into our everyday personal and professional lives. So that we can succeed in both being more assertive AND become more skilled at creating mutually beneficial outcomes, in all aspects of life. Personal and Professional.
How to be more influential
One of the challenges of taking on positions with greater public exposure can also be our concerns that we're not influential enough to be able to get people on side with our ideas or directives. Combined with a fear of freezing up and not knowing what to do if they challenge us, or our credibility, or have questions that we don't know how to answer.
The final session in the program is tailored to teach techniques that will aid in creating greater authentic connectivity and rapport with a wider range of people. Plus provides a chance to practice techniques of influence so that we can be more successful in getting our important viewpoints not just heard, but received and thus make a greater positive impact through our work.
Nerves that come up associated with leadership, speaking to groups and one on one communication
- Have you ever experienced that annoying frustration when public speaking of feeling like one didn't quite nail it in showing up as professionally or powerfully as you KNOW or wish that you could've, because the nerves kicked in, took over and then you felt like they threw you off centre? And then found yourself wishing that you could handle that better, with more calm and confidence and just stay in your power next time?
- Maybe you have an idea that some past experience/s, mental health concerns or PTSD, might also be negatively impacting your performance and capacity to show up how you really want to?
Or found yourself feeling a lot of anxiety about things like:
- Am I ready, qualified or experienced enough to take on this level of responsibility and deliver on this PD, or set of criteria for this role or project?
- Can i handle the challenges that go with it?
- What if i mess it up?
- What if i freeze up?
- What if i can’t maintain?
- Or it comes out that i'm not competent or confidence enough in the process of doing the job?
- I wouldn't want to hurt anyone or do any damage. And that would be devastating. I better not apply/accept. And let someone who's a better fit, step in.
- Or worried about what will have to change when you succeed?
- Or felt anxiety about your inner values and ethics code, clashing in some way with what any particular job, company, organisation, industry or circumstance will require of you?
Whether those nerves are associated with a typical fight flight response, associated with a memory of a past experience we had in front of a group, or with a specific person, or are a part of the story we're constantly telling ourselves in the privacy of our heads, the first, "breakthrough" session of the program is specifically tailored to help each individual to reprogram our nerves and negative self talk, in line with our vision of how we would like to be showing up as Leaders and Communicators instead. How to be more influential
- How can i talk so that people (whether colleagues, potential clients, or subordinates, senior managers, potential stakeholders, investors, as much as various people in our personal lives) listen, and so that they respect and are open to what we have to say?
- How do we better deal with opposing viewpoints, objections and challenges to our authority?
