Express Like You Creative Expression Performance Speaking Practice Event Series
A weekly, 7 week creative expression, spoken word and speaking practice event series, for existing and aspiring Leaders, culminating in a showcase.
This event series is designed to help you unlock and learn to blend and express all the unique, bright and wonderful shades of “you”, in your creative expression and speaking. With confidence and spontaneity and flow. So that we can be more effective, engaging and influential in our professional lives online in front of groups. Not to mention inject a little more joy, fun and lightness into our daily lives, through creating for ourselves a space of creative, expressive respite, throughout these challenging times.
The event series concludes with a public showcase (format, eg live or online, TBA), in which you can share a creative or spoken word piece, performance or presentation with our friendly, supportive tribe and anyone you would like to invite to come along.
What the event series will Involve:
Session 1
VISION & INTRODUCTION- what would you like to achieve during the course? What mode of expression would you like to explore? Plus a chance to meet and get to know your fellow participants.
Session 2
CREATIVE FLOW- learn a simple practice for tuning into your creative flow and 3 different exercises using writing, drawing and movement to help you better tap it at will.
Session 3
PRESENTATION/PERFORMANCE PRESENCE- Learn some simple practices to help you overcome nervous responses and show up as your best you in front of groups. Followed by some spontaneous, improv style exercises to help you build your confidence in your flow.
Session 4
EXPRESSING WHAT YOU REALLY MEAN
One of the keys to owning our true power and the power in our voices is take ownership of the stuff we "shouldn't" or are afraid to say; moving beyond totally repressing it and learning how to give it expression in healthy ways. Art and spoken word can be an incredibly powerful tool for this, that gives us another tool in our belt to help with this. This session will involve a series of fun, creative exercises, that give us permission to say it like it is, so that we can get better at saying what it is we really mean, beyond 'the heat.'
Followed by an opportunity to workshop your creative or spoken pieces.
Session 5
CREATIVE CO-WORKING & PRACTICE
This session is an opportunity to workshop your creative pieces. Plus to ask questions, bounce some ideas off the group, and to practice your creative piece with the group.
